Vision
The Human Rights Committee ensures that the human, civil and legal rights of people with a developmental disability are protected.
Mission
The Human Rights Committee consists of community members, self-advocates and CLTB resource staff who provide rights protection to persons with developmental disabilities supported primarily by CLTB. We also ensure all individuals are afforded due process.
The essential service elements are:
- Human rights education
- Reviewing human rights restrictions
- Resource for investigative team on abuse issues
- Promoting systemic change related to human rights
- Reviewing CLTB policies and procedures to ensure rights compliance
These services are available through written or verbal referrals.
