What is Family Managed Services?
Family managed services (FMS) is when an individual with a developmental disability, their family, or a close friend, can directly hire staff and/or hire a service provider that has been approved by the Persons with Development Disabilities (PDD)/Family Supports for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) program and the Alberta Health Services (AHS)
The main benefits of FMS are the flexibility that you choose what will work best for you, and the control to say in what way the supports are provided.
